Her Name Is Salsa
A collaborative work with artist Sarah Park, Her Name Is Salsa was conceived to be bold, beautiful, and unapologetically dramatic. Her body, dress, and curving form are carved entirely from wood, with peaks and valleys etched throughout. Layers of acrylic paint soften the surface while amplifying its rhythm.
The work carries a vibrant Latin flare, accented by the colors of the Korean hanbok pattern, saekdong, flowing across the back. She embodies movement, beauty, and peace.
Her name is Salsa.
