Be inspired and inspire.
Edwin Malavé II is an American artist of Puerto Rican and African descent, born in Chicago and raised in Los Angeles. His work draws strength from his upbringing—rich in color and design from his mother, and fueled by curiosity and creativity from his father.
Avé, the name he works under, extends from his family’s heritage. It represents inspiration made real through action, and passion carried forward with intention. Avé lives at the intersection of home design and fine art, where each piece is crafted by hand and shaped by the material itself. Woods—domestic and imported from across Africa, Central, and South America—carry their own histories. Their grains and colors create a layered dialogue between place, memory, and form.
Edwin’s practice is rooted in human connection. For more than a decade he has worked in the medical field, bringing care and dignity to those in need. During the pandemic, he found renewed clarity in his purpose: to uplift, to inspire, and to create spaces of healing. That same commitment animates his art.
Avé is both an identity and an offering. It is art built on the values of connection, resilience, and love—an invitation to be inspired, and to inspire in return.
